Below is the basic set of tools for any Set Lighting Technician. You of course can bring other tools, if you think they will help you get the job done. Brands and tool sizes are a personal preference. Cost, usually seems that you get what you pay for when it comes to tools.

- 6in C wrench

- 4in1 screw driver
- 25ft tape measure
- 8-12in channel locks
- Diagonal cutters
- Needle nose pliers

Specialty Tool Set
- Hot Hands (thick leather gloves)
- Edison Tester
- Multimeter (True RMS and Cat III or higher)
- Electricians scissors
- Electrical Sniffer
- Wire Strippers
Expendables on your person
- Black Sharpie
- black or blue ink pen
- 2in black paper tape, small core
- 1in white gaff tape, pocket core
- Black Electrical tape
- 8) C-47 (close pins)
- 2) Cube taps
