Truck/Generator Maintenance

When you have any work done on the trucks, whether its an oil change or installing accessories follow these instructions with the repair information:

• For repair (not maintenance) when calling for the appointment, do not diagnose the problem over the phone. Simply make the appointment to see the mechanic and show them the issue in person. We don't want to diagnose the problem for them and lead them down the wrong path.

• Schedule Repairs to be dropped off at the end of the business day, this will allow the van to be available to them first thing in the morning and will make it so dropping off the vehicle doesn't interfere with our morning meeting.

• When dropping the gear out of a truck going in for repair, remember to drop the entire truck package. Put all the softgoods in a hamper and load up all the loose gear onto flat carts. Gear needs to be dropped and staged in the shop so that the inventory availability stays accurate.

• Use the Truck Maintainance QR code to fill out the form for any truck repairs or maintainance when the truck returns.

This can be found on the clipboard of each truck.

Filling Fluids

We can fill a couple of the fluids ourselves and should be done once every 6 months

• Washer fluid

This is marked with a blue cap that says washer fluid. Fill to the max fill line

• DEF fluid

This is the exhaust fluid for all our diesel vehicles.

• Put on gloves

DEF is a corrosive liquid.

• Open the hood
• Open the Blue DEF Filter Cap
• Place the funnel in the filler

This will avoid any spillages, since DEF is corrosive.

• Fill with DEF fluid

Fill the tank with the DEF (often marketed under the name “AdBlue”) until full.

• Remove the funnel and replace the filler cap
