Teleprompter

Things to remember when shooting with teleprompter.
- if the camera is static, the teleprompter can be put on a stand in front of the camera. You can do slight movements with this, but it will be minimal.
- If the camera needs to move quite a bit or you want to remain very mobile, then it must be mounted to the camera directly. This will add considerable weight to the camera and a heavier tripod head should be used to accommodate this. A 1030 O'Connor head is the least you would need, but a 2575 is ideal depending on what type of teleprompter is used.
- A dolly or at the least wheels for your sticks should be considered. Changing heights without a dolly or a pedestal is very difficult with the weight of the head, teleprompter, and camera build.
- Teleprompters will most likely shift the color of your image slightly. A white balance should be done to ensure proper color after the teleprompter is put on. This can be problematic with cameras like the FS7 as you are unable to do a custom white balance when in CINE EI mode.
- You will also need to take into account the shift in exposure from the teleprompter. You can either meter through the teleprompter (spot or incident both work) to determine the stop loss. This is mostly needed if you plan to use a light meter or have one camera with a teleprompter and one without.
