Staining Apple Boxes

Each apple box should be done as a one piece flow and each apple box will take about 20-25 minutes and 1 hour to dry.
Materials Needed
- Power sander
- 60 grit sand paper
- 2 combo stands
- 2 Big Ben clamps
- 8' speedrail
- Traditional Cherry Stain
- Paint sealant
- Clean rag
- Leaf blower
- Mask
- Gloves
- White trick line
- Scrap cardboard or foamcore
- Cart
Prep
- Set up your sanding station on a cart
- While wearing a dust mask use 60 grit sandpaper and sand off the previous coating on all 6 sides. This takes about 12 minutes.
- Blow off all the sawdust with the leaf blower
Stain
- Set up 2 combo stands with big ben clamps and span an 8' piece of speedrail between them.
- Lay down your cardboard/foamcore to catch drips
- Tie up each apple box with trick line
- Put on gloves
- Dip a clean rag into the traditional cherry stain and apply a light even coating to all 6 sides.
- Allow to dry for 1 hour
- Seal the stain and return to shelf.
