Socket to Edison Plug

A socket to edison plug, also called a pignose, allows you to convert an electrical socket into a plug. This can be really handy when there are no other sources of power and you are in an enclosed space, leaving you little option to power the item from elsewhere.

These are rated for 660 watts and can be polarized as well. While they may be rated for that much, you do need to make sure that the socket you are plugging them into is rated for that value as well, many are rated for less since they are just powering LED bulbs.

The only issue with these is that they do not have a ground plug. You will have to use these with devices that are not grounded, or use a edison adapter in order for it to work. This can become a safety issue as you no longer have a ground wire on your fixture.
