Settings for DMX Fixtures
Skypanel
Factory reset
- Turn on Skypanel
- Press the menu button
Spin the blue wheel to the bottom of the menu and press the blue wheel to select FACTORY RESET.
- Use the blue wheel to select YES
- Press the blue button on YES to initiate
Set DMX ADDRESS
- Press the menu button on the fixture
- Find DMX SETTINGS in the menu (at the top)
- Press the blue wheel to select DMX SETTINGS
Press the blue wheel to select DMX ADDRESS. Press the blue wheel to activate the DMX address and select the starting address. Choose a DMX number and press the blue wheel. Hit the back button on the fixture to exit the DMX ADDRESS menu.
Set DMX profile (Mode)
- Press the menu button
- Select DMX SETTINGS
Scroll to DMX MODE using the blue wheel and press the blue wheel to enter the DMX SETTINGS menu.
- Press the blue wheel to initiate DMX MODE SELECT
Pick a MODE and press the blue button.
- Hit the back button on the fixture to exit DMX MODE
Patching in hardwire DMX
- Run the DMX cable and patch the female end into the IN 5-pin male DMX port.
- Make sure to leave some DMX cable slack at the fixture in case it needs to move.
Patching in a wireless receiver
- Patch the wireless receiver into the DMX 5-pin IN PORT on the unit.
- Use the aux USB port to power the wireless receiver if applicable.
Litegear Ballasts
Turn on the ballast
The ballast will automatically turn on when it is patched into power.
Factory Reset
- Make sure the rocker switch is set to CENTER.
- Press the right white button on the ballast under SETTINGS on the digital display.
- Use the left black wheel to scroll to the bottom of the menu and find FACTORY RESET.
- Press the left black wheel to select.
- Press the right white button below the digital display to select "I’m Sure" to complete the factory reset.
Select DMX Address
Make sure the rocker switch is set to CENTER.
- Press the right white button on the ballast under SETTINGS on the digital display.
- Use the left black wheel to scroll through the menu, find DMX SETTINGS.
- Press the left black wheel to select DMX SETTINGS.
- Use the left black wheel to select DMX ADDRESS.
- Press the black wheel to enter.
- Use the left black wheel to scroll to the appropriate DMX address.
- Press the left black wheel to exit the DMX ADDRESS menu.
Select Profile
Make sure the rocker switch is set to CENTER.
- Press the right white button on the ballast under SETTINGS on the digital display.
- Use the left black wheel to scroll through the menu, find DMX SETTINGS.
- Press the left black wheel to select DMX SETTINGS.
- Use the left black wheel to find DMX PERSONALITY and press the wheel to enter.
- Use the left black wheel to find the proper DMX profile and press the left black wheel to select. The selector will automatically jump to the top of the menu. Press the black wheel again to exit the menu.
Patching in hardwire DMX
Run the DMX cable and patch the female end into the IN 5-pin male to the DMX port. Make sure to leave some DMX cable slack at the fixture in case it needs to move.
Setting up the built-in wireless receiver
- Screw on the antenna.
- Put the toggle switch into the RX position.
- Hold down the round WIRELESS LINK/STATUS button until it is off.
- It is now ready to receive an RF link frequency to connect to a transmitter.
Titan/Helios Tube
Turn on the fixture
Hold down the power button (about 3 seconds) until the digital display turns on.
Settings reset
- Press the menu button on the tube.
- Use the plus and minus buttons to find RESET SETTINGS, press enter button.
- Press enter button to initiate settings reset.
- Select Unlink CRMX and press enter.
Connect AsteraBox to Astera App
- Turn on AsteraBox.
- Connect AsteraBox to the device.
- In the app, click the hamburger menu (top right).
- Select the “Manage Bluetooth Bridges” link.
- Unbridge any other AsteraBoxes except the one you want to connect to.
- If you do not see the AsteraBox listed, click the + symbol at the top right.
- Click “Press here if you want to add an AsterBox.”
- Tap to Bond to connect the AsteraBox to the app. Double-check to make sure the last 3 numbers match the numbers on the box you want to connect to.
- Put in the pairing number that is on the back of the AsteraBox.
Trouble Shooting not connecting AsteraBox to App
- Restart AsteraBox.
- Restart Astera App.
- Turn off and back on Bluetooth settings.
- Clear other Bluetooth devices you are not using.
Pair Tubes to AsteraBox
- Click the hamburger menu (top right).
- Click the button “Pair with Lights.”
- Put lights into Blue pairing mode by holding down the power button until they start flashing blue.
- Press ok in the app and wait until all the tubes stop flashing blue. This means they are connected.
- It will take a minute for all the tubes that are connected to show up in the Connected Lights section of the app (the far left bottom tab in the app).
- Select all the tubes by clicking on the tube icon to the far left of each tube. The symbol will have a blue background.
- Select the magic wand at the top right of the menu screen.
- The tube will be in Auto mode. Find the icon near the top of the screen and select CRMX.
- Select the run time of the battery life on the right side next to the batt symbol. If you are not sure what to set them to, ask the Gaffer or Best Electric.
- Select pixels. Usually, it will be 1 pixel, double-check with Gaffer or Best Electric.
- Select the profile, press the “Profile by #” and check with Gaffer or Best Electric.
- Now we can set a DMX address to each light. Press the Auto Address button near the top of the DMX settings.
- Select the starting address and starting channel number, then press OK.

- Press the menu button.
- Use the plus and minus buttons to find DMX ADDRESS, and press enter.
- Use the plus and minus buttons to select the proper DMX address, press enter.
- Use the plus and minus buttons to select the proper channel number, press enter.
Selecting DMX Profile
- Press the menu button.
- Use the plus and minus buttons to select DMX SETTINGS, press enter.
- Use the plus and minus buttons to select the proper profile, press enter.
Selecting input mode to CRMX
- Press the menu button.
- Use the plus and minus buttons to find Unlink CRMX, press enter.
- Use the plus and minus buttons to find INPUT SELECT, press enter.
- Use the plus and minus buttons to find CRMX WIREL. DMX, press enter.
Aputure Fixtures 600d/X/C
Turn on the fixture
Press the round power button, and the digital display will turn on and the round button will be green.
Factory Reset
- Press the menu button on the ballast.
- Use the wheel to maneuver the menu.
- Find FACTORY RESET, and press the wheel to select.
- Use the wheel to select YES, and press the wheel to initiate.
Select DMX Address
- Press the menu button.
- Use the wheel to find DMX MODE, and press the wheel to select.
- Use the wheel to find DMX ADDRESS, and press the wheel to select.
- Use the wheel to select the proper DMX address, and hit the back button to exit.
Select DMX Profile
- Press the menu button.
- Use the wheel to find DMX MODE, and press the wheel to select.
- Use the wheel to find DMX PROFILE, and press the wheel to select.
- Use the wheel to pick the proper profile, and press the wheel to select.
Select Input mode
- Press the menu button.
- Use the wheel to find CONTROL SYSTEM, press in the wheel to select.
- Use the wheel to select CRMX, press in the wheel to select.
- Set CRMX to ON, scroll down to pair, and push in the wheel to initiate.
Trouble Shooting
If the light doesn’t seem to be reacting to commands in Blackout, unpair the CRMX receiver on the ballast:
- Control System → CRMX → unpair → press yes.
- Hit the RF Link button on the Ratpac AKS.
300d or X
Select DMX Address
- Press the menu button.
- Use the wheel to find DMX MODE, press the wheel to select.
- Choose a DMX address.
Wireless DMX
- Add a CRMX wireless receiver to the ballast.
- Turn on the wireless receiver and make sure it's connected to the Ratpac AKS.
- When the fixture is all set up with the profile, address, and receiver connected, the ballast has to be in DMX Mode with the address showing. It's best to lock that screen. When the ballast is not on that screen, you will have no DMX control.
