Rolling Shelves

While this improvement isn't necessarily a failed one, we failed many times before succeeding.

The attempts were buying workbench casters that attached to the end of the shelves. These were screwed into the shelves directly. This did not lift the shelf high enough up and because the floor was unlevel, it could not roll smoothly. When we removed these casters we were left with a number of holes in shelves that we still needed to use.

We then attempted to use existing holes by taking a piece of 1x4 that spanned the width of the shelves and screwing these same casters in. We thought by lowering the casters as much as possible we could get the shelves to lift up high enough. We did not create any new holes, but the casters did not have enough travel to lift high enough.

Ultimately we used fastpipe to create a base and then attached casters to the fastpipe. This helped us to have them always on wheels, lockable, and they still felt like they would not tip, especially because two sets of shelves were on one base. 8'x8' structure has little change to topple over.
