The RFID Scanner sits on the flip cart, this is how you will use QuikScan.
Item Status
You can use the item status as a tag finder to find missing pieces of equipment. To do this you will need to
- Go into Rentalworks Web > Inventory > Rental Inventory
- Find the item in the Rental Inventory and double click it.
- Click the Asset Tab. Look for the Barcode of the one you want to find.
Now using the scanning gun:
- Type in the Barcode of the item you want to find into QuikScan. Find the icon for Item Status
- Click the three dots
- Click Tag Finder
- Hold the trigger down and walk around, waiting for it to beep. When you get closer, it will beep faster and you will see the finder bar increase in size.
Troubleshooting
Quikscan can be fixed in just a few ways.
- Check the gun's sensitivity. You can do this by going into the Settings menu of Quikscan and making sure the sensitivity is turned all the way up.
Most problems can be remedied by the following.
- Open item status menu, try scanning an RFID tag. This should force the gun to activate RFID.
- Restart the Quikscan app
- Restart the scanner completely
- The gun will time out while attempting to scan anything over 200 tags
- If you are having issues getting it to scan RFID, close the app and open up 123RFID to check and make sure the gun is connected.
- If you are still having issues Click Command + Shift + R and click the Support Ticket - New Ticket macro. Use the Highest priority.
Common Errors
- Not Checked Out - This could mean you have already scanned it in or it was never checked out. Instead of trying to scan this item, move onto looking for things on the Pending list.
