Cart Photos

Set up for taking cart photos
  • Pull center aisle shelves fully towards either side of the shop.
  • Lower white seamless from the pully at back of the shop.

use shotbags to keep the seamless in place

  • Setup two 1200xs

Use Lightdome 150s on combo stands to either side of the seamless. Stem up the combo stands and point the light slightly down for even coverage. Use the heaviest diffusion possible with the intrernal baffle.

  • Turn off House Lights

Turn off all other exterior lights in the shop

  • Setup 1 C-Stand with a baby plate, you'll use this as your phones tripod.

Use Joes Sticky Stuff to attach your phone to the baby plate.

  • Use phone grid lines

This will help you center the images and it can also be used to make them level.

Some Notes About Cart Instruction Photos

  • All photos need to be shot vertical
  • Wheels need to be straight
  • Cover photos of carts should be taken at a 45 deg angle


  • Change Exposure if Necessary

Bring up the exposure by holding down on an area and sliding up.

  • Post all photos in the slack

This will be for approval and download. Use the Bolt Film Solutions slack channel

  • Download and put in google drive

Put it in the carts sections once it is approved. For assembly instructions photos, make a new folder for each cart and a new folder for each step photo to keep things organized.

Small Items

Small photo set up

To take photos of any small items for product shots you will need the following:

1. 4x4 250 Frame

2. 3x3 bead board with hard white

3. c stand

4. Baby stand with 40" Gobo arm

5. 3-4 shotbags

6. 4x8 foamcore (clean)

7. Platypus clamp

  • Set the 250 frame as close to the product as possible, the farther away the frame is from the source, the closer it will need to be to the subject to cut down shadows.
  • Set the beadboard to the other side of the frame in order to bounce the light back into the frame.
  • Frame photo as large as possible
  • Check exposure, adjust acordingly.
