A power inverter is an electronic device that changes direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC) They come in various sizes, allowing for different wattage output. The Dewalt Inverter in our inventory has 1000w output, with each plug acting as a 500w circuit.
These are usually used to change 12V DC from a car battery to 120V AC that can run lighting units. With this you can use a running car as a low wattage generator or you can power a small amount of lights in a moving vehicle without much more additional rigging. You can also use this as an easy way to charge batteries while moving from location to location.
Its important to have the car running if you are using an inverter, otherwise you will quickly drain the battery.
