Porta-Jib
The Standard Porta-Jib is a two-stage, round-tube jib arm supporting camera rigs weighing up to 100 lb. This versatile jib includes a 100mm bowl camera insert; it may also be used to support larger rigs using a Mitchell mount or 150mm bowl front inserts. This jib arm has a reach of 57", a pull-back of 19", and a boom range of 72". Features include a Vector Balancing Bar, 7 lb fine-tuning weight, a boom lock, and pan lock. The Vector Balancing System enables you to transfer weight from the horizontal bar to the vertical Vector Bar, creating a zero-drift effect.
It has a Mitchell base and therefore must go out with a set of Mitchell sticks.
Uses
Can be used to do a variety of sweeping camera movements, or also can replace a small dolly move when it's not feasible through other means.
This is also the best method for quick easy adjustable overhead shots.

It takes 30 lbs. to balance the extended front, and the camera/fluid head needs 2.5X weight to balance.
