Painting Lights
Over time the lights get beat up and the paint starts to peel. Painting the lights bring the lights back to the high quality of standards that clients expect from us.
Prep
* Take cardboard from outside and place over clean work surface or table
* Mask off all areas not being painted with blue painters tape and cardboard for larger areas
* Remove all old paint using Aircraft Remover
Try really hard not to get this on any other parts of the light as it will strip all paint and coating it comes in contact with. This may require multiple coats and passes.
* Let dry completly
* Wipe off any residual residue
Paint
* Fix any masking that might have been moved or removed from paint stripping
* Paint using Moleroon for tungsten lights or the arri blue for any arri lights.
The paint needs to match exactly to the color of the light that you are painting.
* Let dry
* Remove any tape or cardboard and clean up any overspray
This can be done with goof off and a rag. Can also use a scotch brite pad on materials that are scratch resistant.
* Clean up
Put cardboard back on shelf for next time
