P-Touch Label Maker
Here are some of the guidelines and menu items we often use in the P-Touch label maker.
- Only use 1" Labels. If you need them to be smaller they can be cut down.
- Always use ALL CAPS for all labels.
- Only use black label tape with white font.
- Helvetica font only.
- Leave the font size to auto for most of the time and it will always make your font as large as possible.
- Watch in the top right of the screen for the length of your label.
- Keep text on one line if possible to keep font size as large as possible.
- Always use center alignment. (Text > Alignment > Center)
Menu Options
- Label length
Inside the "Label" options. Use this setting if you want your label to fit into a specific spot. Leave your font size to auto and it will automatically resize everything to make it fit into whatever length you want. Mainly we will use this feature for bins, to make the labels fit perfectly in the space provided.
- Label Margin
Sometimes you'll feel like your text could be much bigger in the space provided. Check your margins and try using either small margin or no cut. If you use no cut, you will need to press the Feed + Cut button after you finished printing and trim the label manually with scissors too
- Vertical Font
This is inside the "Font" options. Scroll to "Style" and change until VRT is selected. This allows you to print the text vertically. Printing a single number or letter is best vertically because it will give you the largest single letter possible.
- Press the Preview Button
This will help you to see what the label will look like.
- Symbols
Press the symbol key, scroll down for Arrows.
- Copies
Hold shift and press the print button to bring up the copies menu. Select copies and type in how many copies of a label you would like to make.
