Menace Arms

The Menace arm's main purpose is to boom out a light to keep a stand out of the frame.

Types

There are a few different types of menace arms and they will range in size.

C-Stand menace arm - Slightly beefier telescoping piece of pipe with a baby pin on the end. Has an ear to use with a gobo head or lollipop.

Speedrail Menace arm - Non-telescoping rigid arm using any length of 1" 1/4 pipe and 3 movable pieces and a ratchet strap to make a very sturdy arm.

• The length from the counterweight to the fulcrum(Center Post) should be half the length from the fulcrum to the light. The counterweight should balance the load.
• Depending on how long, weight on the boomed out end, and how high, might require a second stand that attaches to the counterweight side of the set up.

Troubleshooting

The threads may have to be tapped if they become stripped. If it is bent it should be discarded.
