Light it from the front and it will be daytime, light it from the back and it will be night time.
Have to be able to evenly illuminate the front of the backing so that the backing can be lit a few stops over if needed. The lights lighting the Trans Lite should also be able to do different color temperatures so that you can shoot different times of day by mixing the amount of front light and backlight on the screen, along with the color of each of those.
Need a good amount of space between window and backing so that it goes out of focus. 15-20' is sufficient.
