Labeling Fixtures

Labeling fixtures in a DMX lighting design helps communicate with the crew what fixtures are on which channels and what the DMX address is.

Profile Fixtures

LED DMXable fixtures use profiles that assign different functionalities to the fixture.

• Print Profile Labels

Profile Labels have a fixture name, channel number, starting DMX address.

• Place Label on the fixture

Place a label in a way that you'll be able to see it from a vantage point. Put down 2in paper tape with a tab first and place a label on top of the 2in paper tape.

• Label power runs

Label each end of the stinger run the channel number if power source and fixture are rigged in the air.

Dimmer Packs

• Print Dimmer Pack Labels

Dimmer fixture labels have a dimmer name, channel numbers (ex: 1-6), and starting address

• Place Dimmer Label on dimmer pack

Dimmer Pack Fixtures

• Print Dimmer Fixtures Label

Dimmer fixture labels have a fixture name and channel number.

• Place Label on Fixture

Put the label on the fixture in a way that is viewable from a vantage point.

• Label Power Runs

Label the ends of the female edison fanouts the channel number.
