LXBeams to Nomad
Using LXBeams along with Nomad helps speed up the process of patching and addressing units.
Directions
- Make a Plot in LXBeams
Make sure your plot includes, Channel numbers, DMX addresses, and protocol info if needed.
- Export Data sheet
File>Share>Export Channel Data
- Plug in Thumb Drive
Plug in a thumb drive. You will save file to this drive to transfer it over to the Nomad computer.
- Save As...
Create a name and choose a location on the thumb drive. Make sure you select "EOS Family Data" in the menu below save destination. Press "Save" button.
- Start up Nomad Computer
- plug in Thumb Drive
- Copy Data Sheet to Desktop
- Remove Thumb Drive
Don't forget to plug in the Gadget II and the cmd Keyboard to Nomad Computer via USB ports.
- Start Nomad
- Import LXBeams Data Sheet
File>Import>Lightwright>Desktop - Double click to select Data sheet file.
- Configure Settings
You want to match the Lightwright settings to the EOS settings on the right. Click on Dimmer under Lightwright settings and change it to "Address"
- Map Devices
Click "Map Devices" button. Use the search window to find a manufacturer of one of the lights your using. Example: Arri. A list of fixtures will appear.
- Choose Protocol
Click the fixture with the appropriate protocol if you are using LED units.
- Click on the fixture under Lightwright
- Press Link Device
The button is on the far left of the screen.
- Do this for all fixtures
Once you have mapped all the fixtures there should be no fixtures under the Lightwright section. Click "Done" button.
- Do you really want to import items into your show?
Yes, click "OK"
- Sucuess!
If you see this in green, you have done it properly.
- Power fixtures and run DMX to them
- Turn units on
- Configure Units
Assign DMX addresses and protocols where applicable.
- Test Units
Use Nomad to turn on fixtures and make sure that everything is working
