Local 16 is the union that covers stagehands, grips, electrics, and many other crafts in the San Francisco area.

Becoming a Permit

In order to work jobs you must be placed on their overhire list. You can do this by submitting a resume.

Some things to include:

OSHA 10 Certification

OSHA 30 Certification

Forklift Certification

Ariel platform Certification

Programmer experience

Experience in any events, film work

References of people in the union, use Matt Stouppe as a reference of course.

• Follow up with them to confirm they have received your resume. Let them know you have open availability.

• You can continue to follow up with them every other week by using their email contact form. Email Contact

Once you are in their system and on their overhire list, you can login and update your availability every week. You are also able to accept work if you are called for it.

Be sure to always keep your availability updated once you begin working with them.
