How to QC an Item
Items that require QC are items that must be checked in a specific way once they return from a job. If they are not marked as QC'd you will not be able to check them out on future orders.
Finish checking in all of the items that are coming back from the job.
- Find the QC Required Report
On the iPad: Click on the bookmark in Safari called "QC Required Report" or on the left sidebar, click Reports, Type QC into the search bar and search for it. Then click on it and click Preview.
On a computer: Click the QC Required Rental Inventory starred item at the top toolbar. Then Press Preview.
This will show you all the items that require QC.
- QC Piece of Gear
Take that piece of equipment and check it on the prep table. There is a document above the workbench that lists everything that requires QC and how to QC it. Follow the document. If the item is clearly damaged, you will still continue this process, but afterward you will put the item in repair and mark the item as damaged in the activity app. This keeps our QC Required Report clean, but will still denote the item as needing repair.
Some tips while QC'ing equipment:
Do not untie head feeders unless absolutely necessary. Don't re-wrap any cable unless it will not store properly. All battery powered gear will be recharged on the shelf that they are put away on.
- Scan the Item
This can be done on either the RFID scanner or by using the barcode scanner on the workbench. If other people are working in the shop, use the barcode scanner.
To use the iPad, go to the QC section on the iPad in the Rentalworks App and make sure the dongle is plugged in, then scan the barcode of the item that you have checked with the barcode scanner at the workbench.
Sometimes you may find an old item on there that was not checked for a previous order. Take this time to check that item and scan it.
- Refresh QC required report.
When you finish your QC list refresh the page to make sure you did not miss anything.
Only QC Certain items from Matt Stouppes Jobs
Most items will not need to be QC'd on a job where Matt Stouppe was the gaffer. The items we will still have to perform checks on are items that require recharging or refilling of consumable fluids, such as generators, foggers, or hazers. Refer to the QC Sheet above the workbench to see what items those are.
