Note: Make sure your E-Track gets powdercoated before installing.

Tools You Will Need

Grab a Rubbermaid cart and put the following items on it:

· Air Compressor

· Rivet Gun

· Rivets - 3/16" (the fatter head ones)

· Power Drill with 3/16" bit from the rivet drawer

· Blower from the scan cart

· Silver Sharpie

Setup

· Plug in the air compressor and allow it to run until it stops making sound

· Attach the Rivet Gun to the end of the Air Compressor Hose.

· Mark your top two corner holes where you'd like the E-Track bracket to be placed with the sharpie

Installation

· Drill your first holes where you marked with silver sharpie

· Ready your Rivet gun by putting in the long skinny end in the tip of the gun and have extra rivets nearby

· Line your E-track bracket up with the holes you've made

· Put the fat end of the rivet at the end of the gun all the way into the first hole through your E-track bracket

· Pull the trigger on the rivet gun - Sometimes the gun doesn't release the trigger all the way, so make sure you push the trigger back into its first position if needed. This will make the skinny end of the rivet poke its head out. Just push it back in and it should slide all the way back into the catcher at the back of the gun.

· Make sure the Rivet connection is good

· After your first Rivet is in place, the bracket should be attached by the corner, but should be free enough to swing.

· Line up the right corner with the other hole you've made and apply another rivet.

· You should now have your E-track sitting where you want it. If you need to make any adjustments or reconsider positioning, now is the time to do so.

· If you're happy with where it is, pick up the drill and continue to drill all the remaining holes in your bracket.

· When you're finished drilling all the holes, pick up your rivet gun and apply rivets to all the open holes you've drilled.

· When you're finished applying rivets, go back over all the rivets and make sure they're attached correctly.

· Attach a ratchet strap hook and pull on the bracket to make sure it's solid.

Removal

· Take the drill with the 3/16 bit and put it on the lowest power setting (should be a 1 instead of 3).

· Push hard with the drill head directly into the head of the attached rivets and drill through the rivet.

· If you see smoke coming out from the hole, make sure to back off and let the drill bit cool down. Double check you're not in high power mode before continuing.

· Continue pushing until you've made it all the way through and the metal rivet should just fall out.

If you're not able to make headway on the rivets with the drill, the alternate method includes using a hammer and a chisel to physically cut the head of the rivet off. This is messy and will likely scratch your E-track bracket. If you're doing this inside of a truck, wear ear protection as it will be very loud.
