Half Soft Frost
Half Soft Frost is an overhead rag or roll that is used as a light diffusion. This frosted vinyl product offers a unique scattering of light and allows more light to transmit, minimizing light loss. The thin diffusion allows for the point source to shine through creating spectualr light quality. Because of this, HSF is a common choice for day exterior when you want to take the curse off the sunlight without diffusing it too much, giving it a more natural raw sun look. These come in large widths, making seamless 8 X 8 overheads possible. While this can be used in wet conditions, it cannot support much weight, so water must be able to flow off it. This is used by the grip department.
Uses
This is used as a light diffusion for overheads, it's also very useful on camera cars. Because its vinyl, the rag will not make noise when in the wind.
