Tungsten and HMI fixtures use scrims to change the intensity of the fixture if you don't want to use dimmers. Double scrim is Red and cuts the light in half or by one stop and are color coded as red. Single scrim reduces the light out put by 25% or a half stop and are color coded as green. when you place a double into a fixture let the gaffer know "double down" meaning the double is in the fixture. If the Gaffer calls for you to take out the double, once you have done so you would say "double out" notifying the gaffer that the double have been removed from the fixture.
