Many LED fixtures have built in dimmers, but there are also in line dimmers for tungsten units. there is even a dimmer knob on the ballast of an m18. Dimming up increases the light out put of the unit. Dimming down decreases the light out put of the fixture. tungsten at a certain point changes its color temp depending on how low the dimmer setting is.
