Crankovator

A crank stand is a junior stand that has a crank that you can turn to allow you to raise a very heavy light. This can be either a road runner or a crank stand. Can be used by the Grip or Electric Departments, although most times its an electric item.

To test if the crankovator is working properly, you must have a load on it, so placing a sandbag ontop of the junior receiver would be sufficient. Roadrunners do not require a load to be put on the stand to be cranked.

Crank stands should be loaded last in the truck whenever possible. To head up a light you will most likely take the stand off the truck, set it up below the fully raised liftgate, then you will tilt the light into the stand. By putting the stand last you will allow yourself to go up and down on the liftgate as little as possible.

Uses

Can be used for heavy lights. Can also be used for goal posts or lifting other heavy objects. You do have to take note of the weight limit of the stand.
