Cable management is an important part of working as an electrician. Some basic ideas of cable management are below.

While you can always use cable cross overs, you can also use rubber matting to cover cables that are crossing doorways. Try and avoid using tape if possible as a rubber matting can easily move and be changed, while tape is expensive and is less versatile.

Rig to wrap

This could mean a multitude of things, the general idea is that you want to make it as easy as possible to wrap everything.

Some examples of this include:

Use trickline to tie the cable onto the bottom of a menace arm rather than wrapping a cable around a menace arm.

Tying the cable to the bottom of a grid using trick line as you go rather than running the cable through the top.

Leaving 2-3 loops of cable slack at the fixture.

Clean Rigs

These are mostly seen in reality TV where you must be able to see the rig on camera. This means using the below tools to run the cable from the lamp to the power source along corners of the wall and ceiling, or using various tapes to hide the cable. This could be used when you must run a cable in the shot. The cleanest version of this is running a piece of tape over the cable and having a set painter paint the tape the same color as the wall.
