Bag Sealer

The bag sealer is a simple machine. It uses a hot metal rod that runs the length of it with a Teflon strip on top. It does not need to be turned on as it only heats up when it is pressed down. The uses of the Bag Sealer are to seal expendables and products for sale. An unbroken seal means that it has not been used.

• Find correct Bag

To figure out the proper size bag to put an item in, check the Kanban card in the blue bin that the item is inventoried to.

• Pull Bag out and Seal it.

Pull your poly tube bag out from above the bag sealer. Once you've found a good length for your bag, push the sealer down and wait for a "click" noise. Once you hear the click you can use the sliding knife attachment on top of the sealer to swipe and cut the bag off from the roll.

• Place the item inside, seal the other end.

Keep the item tight inside the bag, but make sure you have enough space to actually seal the item. If the item inside the bag fits too well or is too large you won't have enough plastic to actually go in the sealer.

You can replace the metal rod or Teflon strip if they have too much wear. You also can adjust the heat on the dial on the front of the machine.
