Assessing an Idea

Every idea should be qualified by these four things, in this order

• Safety
• Quality
• Simplicity
• Speed

Safety

Improvements should not affect safety at all in any negative way. If safety levels stay the same or get better, it's good!

Quality

This is the next criteria to look. At this point you know it's either safer or just as safe as before, now has quality improved?

Simplicity

Next is simplicity, ask yourself is the idea simpler than it is before? Now it could be slightly more complicated, but improve quality and safety greatly. This list is a hierarchy, so those trump these lower items.

Speed

This is actually at the bottom of the list, speed is the least important piece of criteria. Is it faster than it was before? If so, you're good!
