Firmware Update
PSA: When updating Aputure Firmware, make sure the lamp head is connected to the controller.
The STORM series lights can be updated with a USB-A flash drive (or with a USB-C flash drive for the Storm 80c). We recommend a flash drive with a 128GB capacity or less, formatted as FAT 32. To do so, do the following:
- Get the firmware for the light you wish to update by browsing to its product page on www.Aputure.com/
- Click the Storm Product Family ➡️ Product page, then scroll down to the Downloads section of the light's product page.
- Download the latest Zip file for the firmware you are installing.
- Extract the Zip file onto your computer.
- Copy the extracted files onto the root of the USB drive (or USB-C for the 80c). They should not be in any folder.
- Insert USB Drive into the STORM light. Make sure lamp head is connected to the ballast as both have firmware that will need an update.
- From the Main menu, go to System Settings ➡️ Firmware Update.
- Select Update Firmware and then "Yes"
- The Firmware File should be an unzipped ".bin" file on the root of your flash drive.
