Applying for Jobs on Facebook

Depending on the position you are applying for you'll want to provide different things, however the goal remains the same. Provide them with all of the information they will need to hire you within the first message. Everything that you provide them as well should pertain to the position they are hiring for. As an example, if they are looking for an electric, don't send them a resume full of your jobs where you were a grip.

Here is Matts cover letter. It can be helpful to save something like this pinned in your notes app so you can quickly copy paste it into your job. You will also need to attach a resume, so be sure to have that easily accessible in the Files app as well.

Hello!

My name is Matthew Stouppe and have been a Bay Area-based gaffer for 10 plus years. I saw your add on Facebook looking for a Lighting Crew and I hope you can take me into consideration.

Through my career I have focused my energy into learning the latest lighting advances and use technology to make my role as a Gaffer more efficient. With my leadership and passion to collaborate and tell stories visually, I can be a valuable asset to your production.

I also am a co-owner of Bolt Lighting Rental (www.boltlightingrental.com), which is a grip and electric rental house based in the Bay Area with grip trucks and a plethora of lighting equipment.
