Add Custom Fixture
Before you begin your glorious journey in creating custom fixtures in LX Beams, make sure you download the folder "Film Set Objects - 2020" from google drive. You can find it by navigating Bolt Google Drive>Training>Workshops>LX Beams
Follow the Slides file titled Custom Symbol and subsequent workshop files. You can find the file in google drive

Or follow these directions
- open LXBeams
- Drag image file onto the plot
Might only work with certain file types. .jpg and .png work.
- change dimensions of the image in LXBeams
- Make sure you are in 'Bolt Fixtures' Key
- Add New Entry
click the gear icon in the key window and select "Add Entry
- Choose Kind of Key Entry
You can try and pick an entry that best describes the fixture as far as its capabilities and style of the fixture. If you do not know, you can choose 'DMX Device'. Leave the ID for key entry alone.
- Type and Full Name
Use Full name for both Type and Full Name. EXAMPLE:
- Type: 4ft Astera AX-1 Tube
- Full Name: 4ft Astera AX-1 Tube
- New Entry Selected
Make sure your new entry is selected. The default image in the key is a source-4 type-looking fixture. Also make sure the new image you dragged into the lighting plot is selected.
- Use Selection As Symbol
Top menu: Format>Convert. Press the option key on the keyboard, 'Use Selection as Symbol' will be at the bottom of the convert menu.
- Replace Symbol?
yes!
- Export Key
When your done adding new items make sure to export the key. It is how you save the items to the key.
